Quarterly Message From the PTHS President

There is a lot to read in this newsletter, so I will keep my message short and use large font! Farm Day was a success. We had a record number of volunteers and one of the highest turnouts in recent history. It's a pleasure to see that event grow each year. Donna Litvin took the helm and did a great job!

If you like talking about the paranormal, hopefully you enjoyed the last  public meeting. Don Walton scheduled a spook-tacular meeting on July 27th.

We are all happy to see our Curator, Grace Alliegro, is up and about. She is an integral part of the Society and really keeps us moving.

On a sad note, we saw the passing of Alice Lemke. I will always remember Alice partaking in the "Street Clean-Up" with Al. Our thoughts and prayers are with Al and his family. I hope everyone is having a great summer. It's hard to imagine that school starts in just over a month. Enjoy the remainder of the summer and stay cool.

-William Masten, President, Q3 2011

Bequests

They say the only two things that are certain in life are death and taxes. Throughout the years we have received bequests from many individuals. Some large, some small, but all are meaningful. If you would like to leave a bequest to the Society, please contact your attorney to have us added in your will. If you do not currently have a will, make it your New Year's Resolution and have an attorney draw one up for you. There are many worthwhile charities in Salem County to choose from, but you should find out which one closely shares your ideals. Instead of a bequest you may also choose to make an outright gift. This will allow you to see how the Society invests your gift. It may also determine if you include them in your will. Two local law firms who have a history of supporting events of the Society are Masten and Ray and John Jordan. I am sure either one would be happy to assist you in your estate planning needs..
